The Department of Cellular Biology proudly celebrates the achievements of our 23 graduating seniors. Their dedication, curiosity, and drive exemplify the spirit of scientific discovery, and we are confident they will lead the future of biomedical research, education, healthcare, or wherever their paths lead.

We are especially honored to recognize Alexander C. Garrot as the recipient of the 2025 Grace Thomas Award, our department’s highest undergraduate distinction.  Graduating with a B.S. in Cellular Biology and a certificate in Immunology, Alex conducted groundbreaking research in the Kurup Lab, demonstrating how pre-vaccination high-fat diets enhance malaria protection through reactive oxygen species in hepatocytes, and making a remarkable contribution to infectious disease science.
