The National Institutes of Health has awarded $2.6 million to University of Georgia researcher, Dr. Kojo Mensa-Wilmot, and his team to advance new drugs to treat African Trypanosomiasis, also known as HAT or African sleeping sickness.

Ashley Rasys, form the James Lauderdale Lab, has been selected to receive the 2017-2018 ARCS Foundation Award.

Dr. Roberto Docampo has been elected as corresponding member of the Latin American Academy of Sciences (ACAL).

Roberto Docampo, Distinguished Research Professor of Cellular Biology and Barbara & Sanford Orkin/Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar, has been named the University of Georgia's recipient of the 2017 Southeastern Conference Faculty Achievement Award.

Researchers working as part of the University of Georgia's Regenerative Bioscience Center have developed a new way use stem cells that may one day enable restoration of vision to people with damaged corneas by using their own eye tissue.
